POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Hartwood Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Database Developer (Senior Database Developer / Contract Manager) to support the Office of Homeland Security Statistics (OHSS).


This position serves as the senior technical lead and Contract Manager for the task order and acts as the primary point of contact for the Contracting Officer (CO) and Contracting Officer’s Representative (COR). The Database Developer is responsible for establishing and maintaining an efficient data-management framework for OHSS while overseeing contractor performance, staffing, scheduling, and continuity of support.


The position combines senior-level database development and administration, data governance, automation, and contract-management responsibilities.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 


Database Development and Data Management

  • Assess existing data systems, workflows, and requirements and develop a comprehensive data-management framework.
  • Establish and maintain a central data repository/data warehouse supporting data collection, storage, processing, analysis, and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain automated data pipelines and workflows for data collection, transformation, cleansing, and validation.

Hartwood Consulting Group is seeking an experienced Records Management Systems Integration Specialist to support the Marine Corps History Division (HD), Archives Branch, Education Command/Marine Corps University at Marine Corps Base Quantico.


The Records Management Systems Integration Specialist supports the management, integration, modernization, and improvement of electronic records and archival information systems. The position combines Federal records management expertise with technical systems knowledge to support the identification, collection, preservation, management, and accessibility of historically valuable and organizational records. 


The Specialist works with electronic content management systems (ECMS), SharePoint Online, OneDrive, records databases, and related technologies to improve records-management processes, system integration, data quality, security, and compliance with Federal and organizational requirements.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Records Management and Systems Integration

  • Access, process, organize, and manage digital archives and organizational records stored within electronic content management systems, local or cloud environments, and SharePoint Site Collections.

  • Experience with records-management standards such as ISO 15489 and DoD 5015.2.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Hartwood Consulting Group is seeking skilled and detail-oriented Sewing Machine Operators to support U.S. Marine Corps uniform alterations and fitting operations at Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) Parris Island, South Carolina.


The Sewing Machine Operator is an hourly, non-exempt Service Contract Act (SCA) position responsible for performing skilled sewing, alterations, repairs, and finishing work on U.S. Marine Corps uniforms and related garments. Using industrial sewing equipment and established alteration instructions, the Sewing Machine Operator ensures garments are completed accurately, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable U.S. Marine Corps uniform requirements and quality standards.

This position requires proficiency in garment construction and alteration techniques, industrial sewing equipment, fabric handling, and finishing work. Sewing Machine Operators work from alteration markings, work orders, and other instructions to complete assigned garment modifications while maintaining consistency, workmanship, and production efficiency.


Working in a structured, production-oriented military environment, the Sewing Machine Operator collaborates with fitters, alteration personnel, material handling staff, customer-service personnel, quality-control personnel, and supervisors to ensure uniforms move efficiently through the alteration process and are completed within required delivery timelines. 


The successful candidate will demonstrate strong sewing skills, craftsmanship, manual dexterity, attention to detail, productivity, reliability, and a commitment to delivering quality work in support of U.S. Marine Corps personnel.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Sewing and Uniform Alterations 

  • Operate industrial sewing machines to perform assigned alterations, repairs, and finishing work.
  • Perform hemming, tapering, seaming, stitching, patching, mending, and other assigned garment modifications.
  • Alter trousers, shirts, coats, jackets, dress uniforms, and other military garments according to established instructions.
  • Install, replace, repair, or secure zippers, buttons, fasteners, insignia, name tapes, rank insignia, patches, and other uniform components.
  • Perform hand sewing and finishing work when required.
  • Apply appropriate sewing techniques based on garment construction, fabric, and alteration requirements.

Industrial Sewing Equipment Operation 

  • Safely operate straight-stitch, overlock/serger, blind-hem, bar-tack, and other applicable industrial sewing equipment.
  • Thread machines, replace bobbins and needles, and make routine operating adjustments within training and authorization.
  • Perform routine operator-level care and maintain a clean, organized sewing station.

  • Read and follow work orders, garment markings, alteration instructions, and production documentation.

POSITION DESCRIPTION: 

Hartwood Consulting Group is seeking skilled and experienced Tailors to support U.S. Marine Corps uniform alterations and fitting operations at Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) Parris Island.


The Tailor performs skilled fittings, alterations, repairs, and finishing work on U.S. Marine Corps uniforms to ensure proper fit, appearance, and compliance with applicable uniform standards. This position requires advanced tailoring and sewing skills, garment-construction knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to accurately measure, mark, alter, and inspect military uniforms.


The Tailor works closely with sewing machine operators, material handling personnel, supervisors, and government staff to ensure garments are completed accurately and within required production timelines.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Fitting and Alterations

  • Conduct uniform fittings, take accurate measurements, evaluate garment fit, and mark garments for alteration.
  • Determine appropriate alteration methods based on measurements, garment construction, and applicable uniform requirements.
  • Perform skilled alterations on dress uniforms, service coats, trousers, skirts, shirts, blouses, jackets, and other military garments.
  • Perform hemming, tapering, taking in or letting out seams, resizing, adjusting waistlines and sleeves, and other complex garment modifications.
  • Attach, adjust, replace, or relocate insignia, rank insignia, name tapes, patches, buttons, stripes, fasteners, and other uniform components.
  • Perform hand sewing and finishing work when machine sewing is not appropriate.
  • Safely operate industrial sewing equipment, including straight-stitch, overlock/serger, blind-hem, bar-tack, and other applicable machines.


Work Orders and Quality Control

  • Read and interpret alteration tickets, measurements, garment markings, work orders, and production instructions.
  • Inspect garments before and after alteration for proper fit, workmanship, appearance, and accuracy.
  • Correct alteration or workmanship deficiencies as necessary.
  • Identify unclear instructions, garment discrepancies, or fitting concerns and obtain clarification before completing work.
  • Maintain proper garment identification and accountability throughout the alteration process.
  • Meet established quality, production, and delivery requirements.


Equipment and Work Area

  • Properly use and maintain sewing machines, shears, measuring tools, marking tools, needles, pressing equipment, and other tailoring equipment.
  • Perform routine operator-level equipment care and promptly report equipment malfunctions or unsafe conditions.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, organized, and properly supplied workstation.
  • Use materials efficiently and report supply shortages or equipment needs to supervisory personnel.


Customer Service and Teamwork

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of two years of professional tailoring, garment alteration, garment construction, or comparable experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in hand and machine sewing, garment fitting, measurement, marking, and alteration techniques.
  • Knowledge of garment construction, seams, hems, fasteners, fitting principles, and professional finishing techniques.
  • Ability to safely and proficiently operate industrial sewing equipment and tailoring tools.

Hartwood Consulting Group is seeking dependable and detail-oriented Material Handling Laborers to support U.S. Marine Corps uniform alterations and fitting operations at Marine Corps Recruit Depot (MCRD) Parris Island, South Carolina.


The Material Handling Laborer is an hourly, non-exempt Service Contract Act (SCA) position providing material handling, operational, client-service, and shop-support functions. The position plays an essential role in supporting the receipt, preparation, movement, organization, staging, storage, and distribution of military uniforms and related materials throughout the alterations and fittings process.

Material Handling Laborers help maintain an efficient flow of garments between customer service, fitting, alteration, quality-control, storage, and distribution areas. The position works closely with tailors, seamstresses, fitters, supervisors, customer-service personnel, and other team members to ensure uniforms are properly organized, routed, safeguarded, and available when needed.


This is primarily a material handling and shop-support position. Core responsibilities include garment movement and preparation, inventory support, staging, accountability, fitting-area support, housekeeping, and other operational activities necessary to support timely and accurate uniform processing. The successful candidate will demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, manual dexterity, organization, professionalism, and the ability to work efficiently in a structured, fast-paced military environment with established quality and delivery requirements.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Garment Handling and Workflow Support: 

  • Receive, sort, organize, stage, and move uniforms throughout designated work areas.
  • Route garments to fitting, alteration, quality-control, storage, customer-service, and distribution areas.
  • Organize garments by customer, work order, production stage, alteration requirement, or established tracking method.
  • Hang, fold, bundle, tag, package, and otherwise prepare garments for processing or distribution.
  • Collect and stage completed uniforms for inspection, pickup, or distribution.
  • Move garment racks, carts, boxes, supplies, and materials as required.
  • Maintain proper garment identification, separation, and accountability throughout the production process.
  • Handle uniforms and customer property carefully to prevent loss, damage, contamination, or misplacement.


Fitting and Alterations Shop Support

  • Prepare uniforms and fitting areas for scheduled fitting activities.
  • Organize fitting rooms and ensure required garments and materials are available for fitting personnel.
  • Stage uniforms for tailors, seamstresses, fitters, and quality-control personnel.
  • Retrieve and deliver garments, supplies, and materials to designated workstations.
  • Assist tailors, seamstresses, and fitters with non-skilled garment preparation and material-handling activities.
  • Assist with garment tagging, folding, hanging, packaging, sorting, and other garment-preparation activities.
  • Assist with steaming or pressing garments when trained and authorized to do so.
  • Prepare and organize work areas before and after fitting and alteration activities.
  • Support production personnel during periods of increased workload.
  • Cross-train in related material-handling, inventory, customer-support, and general shop-support functions as operationally appropriate.


Material and Inventory Support:

  • Receive, unpack, organize, stock, and distribute shop supplies and materials.
  • Assist with inventory counts and routine monitoring of uniforms, alteration supplies, materials, and shop equipment.
  • Maintain orderly storage areas and ensure materials are placed in or returned to designated locations.
  • Replenish commonly used supplies at workstations and fitting areas as directed.
  • Notify supervisory personnel of low inventory, missing materials, damaged items, or supply needs.
  • Assist with receiving deliveries and verifying materials against available documentation as directed.
  • Support accountability and tracking of government-furnished, customer-furnished, and company-furnished materials.
  • Minimize unnecessary material waste and support proper use and storage of supplies.


 Quality, Organization, and Safety

  • Verify garment identification, tags, work status, and routing information before moving items through production.
  • Conduct visual checks for apparent completeness, visible damage, or other discrepancies and route technical concerns to appropriate personnel.
  • Maintain clean, orderly, and safe fitting, production, storage, and common work areas.
  • Keep aisles, exits, workstations, and equipment areas free from unnecessary obstructions.
  • Return racks, carts, tools, supplies, and materials to designated locations.
  • Report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, spills, blocked exits, or other workplace hazards promptly.

Prior sewing, tailoring, or alteration experience is not required for this position.

  • Experience sorting, staging, tracking, receiving, stocking, or distributing materials or merchandise.
  • Experience working in a production or deadline-driven environment.
  • Familiarity with inventory-control or material-tracking procedures.
  • Experience in a uniform, garment, textile, laundry, dry-cleaning, tailoring, or alterations environment is helpful but not required.
  • Familiarity with military uniforms or U.S. Marine Corps uniform standards is beneficial.
  • Previous experience working on a U.S. military installation or supporting a government contract is preferred.
